A Magical Place

"There is a land so magical and beautiful one feels like they are flying through the clouds. Let your imagination take you on a flitterific journey. You will smile every time!" "Mama Hen
Little Chick loves fairies! We decided to create a beautiful Fairyland where her imagination could soar. We have spent days making cute little fairies out of flower petals, pipe cleaners, wooden beads and more. We went to the art store and found the perfect bird feeders to be our fairy homes. We also got shells for cozy beds, large green felt for grass and large fake plants for the fairies to flitter from branch to branch. Over Christmas I had taken down the beautiful tent that I had made for Little Chick. But she asked me to put it back up so Fairyland could be inside. She made a sign for everyone (including all doggies and kitty cats, even our puppy Pom - Gigi, who helped out in the creative process) to Keep Out. She could not wait to get up this morning and enjoy playing in her Fairyland tent. We still have work to do, because we want to make ladybugs, turtles and fireflies for Fairyland. It is so wonderful to see one's imagination take flight!

What a Blizzard

"When things get dumped upon you, find a way to make the best of the situation." ~Mama Hen
This was quite a blizzard! It started off as really beautiful and fun! But as I continued to shovel from 8:00 am to 11:30 pm, it was not so much fun any more. Then, after shoveling my long driveway and front pathway five times throughout the day, we awoke the next morning to several feet of snow right where I had worked so diligently. But I worked through it and kept shoveling away until I got the job done. Little Chick was so adorable and got all geared up at night and said, "Mommy, I am here to help you! Where is my shovel?" I was so proud of my little baby being so kind and wanting to help her mommy out. Once I had cleared the driveway in the evening, the snow came down so fast that the accumulation was just enough for Little Chick to sled. So as I continued to shovel she went zooming down the driveway. It took many hours the following day to clear my driveway. Then I did my roof! After all that work, a good cup of hot cocoa was in order!
Guess who came to help? Of course my beautiful little helper!
Yikes! That is a lot of snow! I thought I shoveled that already!
 Where is the fence?
 Are we there yet?
Not again! I thought I shoveled that driveway five times already!
 Now on to the roof!
I am ready for spring!

Traveling Chick

"Every day is another opportunity to set out on a new adventure." ~Mama Hen
Little Chick has been traveling the past couple of weeks. We just got back from Vermont last night in time for the big blizzard coming our way. We spent a couple of days at our favorite Inn going swimming, exploring the Science Museum in Montshire and simply having a wonderful time. The Science Museum was filled with so many fantastic things to learn through hands on. Little Chick loved the spinning table and trying to make the wheels stay up while it went around and around. She also had fun with the hoola hoop bubbles and pulling ropes that created one enormous sheet of soap. We enjoyed eating lunch at Simon Pearce and watching them make glass. The view from our seat at the restaurant was breathtaking. A couple of weeks ago, Little Chick and I decided to do a one night Girls Getaway to another favorite Inn of ours here in Connecticut up North. We spent hours in the pool swimming. We treated ourselves to a lovely dinner and delicious breakfast overlooking the beautiful water. It has been a couple of weeks of fun travel and adventure!
